Cheap Car Insurance Quote
Here's how we were able to get a cheap car insurance quote online in about 30 minutes. In the end, we actually lowered our rate by about $400 per year using this technique.
1. Submit a quote request at insurance.com - The advantage here is that it is a great starting point and one of the few places (and certainly the most reputable) that at the end of the process you will actually see firm quotes on your screen from four or five different companies. For us, the returned result was a premium of $1,000 annually for two vehicles and two drivers. (We came into the process with an annual premium of $1,200 from a local agent)
2. Get a quote from Esurance.com. Typically among the cheapest auto insurance quotes you will find online. They only quote their own insurance, but you can rest assured that it will be among the lowest. For us, this resulted in an annual premium of about $925.
3. Submit a request to one of the agent comparison quote sites such as hometownquotes.com. Here, your request will be matched to 5 of about 1,400 participating companies and agents. Your response will generally be by email or phone. Armed with the information in steps 1 and 2... personal negotiation is pretty easy. Let them give you their quote, tell the you have found a better one and tell them to beat it. For us one agent did and we finished the process with a rate of $895 annually from a very reputable company for a total savings of just over $300.
Give it a try. You really can find cheap car insurance quotes by using the internet if you know where and how to look. |
